Learn To Train

Have you ever been interested in climbing the Grand Teton? What about doing it car to car in a day?

Matt Cupal and Katherine Zukor did the Grand Traverse (12 Teton peaks, 18 miles, 12K vert) in a day in August of last year and learned a lot about mountain endurance fitness in the process.

If you have alpine climbing ambitions, come and listen to their story of training for and executing the Grand Traverse. They’ll discuss the following:

  • Preparation and gear needed for the Grand Traverse
  • Setting health and fitness goals that are motivating and fun
  • Strength and endurance training for rock and mountain climbing
  • Training for metabolic efficiency through diet, exercise and timing of each
Matt is the head coach of Elevation’s youth climbing team. He’s been climbing for 35 years and has done numerous alpine climbs as well as many sport climbing first ascents in Logan Canyon. Kat is a registered nurse that is currently completing a health and wellness coaching certification. She’s been climbing for 25 years and has climbing several 5.13s up Logan Canyon.
